Nine Forms of Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration for Retired Indonesian Migrant Workers Through BP2MI Introduced

The National Agency for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (Badan Perlindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia - "BP2MI") has issued Regulation No. 6 of 2023 ("Regulation 6/2023") on the Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration of Retired Indonesian Migrant Workers, which has been in force since 26 September 2023.
In essence, Regulation 6/2023 contains four provisions, specifically: 1) Forms of rehabilitation and social reintegration; 2) Implementation of rehabilitation and social reintegration; 3) Guidance and supervision; 4) Funding.
A total of nine forms of rehabilitation and social reintegration can be provided by BP2MI and district/city governments, as well as in coordination with relevant ministries/agencies, including: 1) Motivation and psycho social diagnosis; 2) Treatment and nurturing; 3) Vocational training and entrepreneurship coaching; 4) Mental and spiritual guidance; 5) Physical guidance; 6) Social guidance and psycho-social counseling; 7) Accessibility services; 8) Social assistance and support; 9) Provision of rehabilitation facilities.
