KPK and Police to Cooperate in Relation to Handling of Cross-Border Crime

The Corruption Eradication Committee (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi – "KPK") along with the Indonesian Police Force, specifically the Division of International Relationships, are now discussing various cooperation and coordination efforts aimed at tackling transnational crime (including crimes of corruption), which has been following an upwards trend.
One of the legal instruments considered crucial in terms of efforts to eradicate transnational corruption crimes and recover assets that have been transferred overseas is Mutual Legal Assistance with the authorities of partner countries. In the future, said cooperation may also include joint investigations and the establishment of an information network on transnational and international crime.
