Overview

In today’s increasingly digitized world, most businesses that offer services and/or goods to their customers or clients engage in personal data (“Data”) processing (“Processing”) activities. Unfortunately, however, as technologies become ever more sophisticated, Data breaches (“Breaches”) are having a correspondingly ever more disruptive effect on businesses and other entities across the globe.

A 2022 study of Breaches put together by tech giant IBM revealed that 83% of companies in more than 17 countries around the world had been breached more than once.^[1] Moreover, the same study found that 16% of the affected companies were in the financial sector, while the remainder were mainly operating in the services, industrial and technology sectors.^[2]
