Vessel Service Stations Now Required to Submit Service Reports via Shipping Safety Technology Centers Official Website

In an effort to ensure the quality of annual vessel examinations, maintenance and repairs, the Director-General of Sea Transportation ("Director-General") has decided to introduce a number of provisions that specifically address the supervision of service providers that maintain and repair vessel equipment and components ("Service Stations") through the issuance of Circular No. SEDJPL 14 of 2023 ("Circular 14/2023"), which has been in force since 8 May 2023.
Under Circular 14/2023, Service Stations are mandated to implement the following: 1) Upload service reports on completed maintenance and repair work via the official website of the Shipping Safety Technology Center ("Center"), which can be found at: https://simakespel.dephub.go.id/; 2) Issue annual re-inspection certificates ("Certificates") after the Center has verified submitted service reports; and 3) Issued Certificates must adhere to determined Certificate and service report formats, as addressed under the relevant Decree of the Head of the Center.
It should also be noted that the Center will impose Non-Tax State Revenue (Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak/PNBP) for the issuance of the above-mentioned Certificates in accordance with relevant laws and regulations
