HMA for 20 Forms of Metal Mineral and HBA for Three Types of Coal Issued for April 2023

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources ("Minister") has set applicable references prices for metal minerals (harga mineral logam acuan – "HMA") and references prices for coal (harga batubara acuan – "HBA") for the April 2023 period through the issuance of Decree No. 71.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2023 ("Decree 71/2023"), which has been in force since 17 April 2023.
As detailed under Appendix I to Decree 71/2023, the applicable HMA should be utilized as a reference during calculations of applicable metal mineral benchmark prices (harga patokan mineral logam/HPM) for April 2023. In this regard, the HMA applies to 20 types of metal mineral commodities, including: 1) Nickel (US$ 24,227/DMT); 2) Cobalt (US$ 33,981.75/DMT); 3) Lead (US$ 2,096.20/DMT); 4) Zinc (US$ 3,014.45/DMT); and 5) Aluminum (US$ 2,813.80/DMT).
Meanwhile, the applicable HBA are comprehensively detailed under Appendix II to Decree 71/2023. Said reference prices should be utilized as a reference during calculations of applicable coal benchmark prices (harga patokan batubara/HPB) for April 2023. The applicable HBA for the abovementioned coal commodities break down as follows: 1) Coal (with 6,322 Gross as Received ["GAR"]): US$ 265.26/ton; 2) Coal II (with 5,200 GAR): US$ 102.53/ton; and 3) Coal III (with 4,200 GAR): US$ 87.81/ton.
