Indonesian Migrant Workers Now Entitled to Health and Employment Insurance

In order to satisfy the mandate originally set out under Law No. 18 of 2017 on the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (“Law 18/2017”) that addresses the Provision of Social Security to Indonesian Migrant Workers,[1] the Minister of Manpower (“Minister”) recently issued Regulation No. 4 of 2023 on Social Security for Indonesian Migrant Workers (“Regulation 4/2023”), which has been in force since 22 February 2023.[2] The promulgation of Regulation 4/2023 simultaneously repealed and replaced Regulation of the Minister No. 18 of 2018, which bore the same title (“Regulation 18/2018”).[3]
