- A recent session of the Legislative Body (Badan Legislasi – "Baleg") of the Indonesian House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Republik Indonesia – "DPR RI") concluded that the Bill on the Amendment to the Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation (Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan – "LLAJ") was to be excluded from the 2023 National Legislation Program (Program Legislasi Nasional – "Prolegnas").
- A total of six fractions requested the exclusion of the LLAJ Bill and two fractions supported the inclusion of the LLAJ Bill, while one fraction said it would follow the recommendation of the government. In addition, the Draft Bill on the Criminal Code (Rancangan Undang-Undang Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana – "RUU KUHP") has also been excluded from the 2023 Prolegnas, as the bill was finally passed in late 2022.
- The recent Baleg session also decided that a total of 39 Draft Bills were to be included in the 2023 Priority Prolegnas. Hukumonline has previously summarized the list of Draft Bills set for inclusion in the 2023 Priority Prolegnas, which can be accessed through: “Ini Daftar RUU Prolegnas Prioritas 2023”. It should also be mentioned that the Draft Bill on the New Indonesian Capital of Nusantara has been included on the 2023 list. (ANT)
