Road Testing Completed: Govt. Gears up for Implementation of B40

  • The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has announced the completion of the road testing of B40 in diesel-engine vehicles and has stated that the government will be issuing a technical recommendation for the implementation of the B40 program in the near future.
  • At present, ongoing road-testing results have revealed that cars are able to operate on B40 normally and smoothly without any technical difficulties. In this regard, engine filters were not found to become blocked during the recent road testing, which represents an improvement over previously conducted road tests.
  • In addition to technical preparations for the use of B40 in relation to engine vehicles, the government will also be ensuring the availability of infrastructure from Pertamina and other enterprises, including blending facilities capable of meeting fuel requirements. In terms of supplies of biofuel, current supply totals a capacity of 16.3 million kiloliters, while the B40 requirements will amount to approximately 15 million kiloliters. (ESDM)
