Hiring TKA in Indonesia: A Procedural Walk-Through

Overview

The recent decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases worldwide has in turn led to a relaxation in the restrictive policies which were originally put in place to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Indonesia specifically, a relaxation of national COVID-19 restriction policies has in turn led to a rebound in the number of foreign workers (Tenaga Kerja Asing – “TKA”) in the country. During the second half of 2019, the number of TKA in Indonesia reached 109,550 which subsequently decreased by 14.4% at the end of 2020 to only 93,940 TKA. This number continued to decline in 2021, ultimately reaching a figure of just 88,270.[1]
