PUSHIDROSAL to Take Action on Illegal and Unlicensed Submarine Cables

The Center for Hydro-Oceanography of the National Navy (Pusat Hidro-Oseanografi Angkatan Laut – "PUSHIDROSAL") has issued a statement affirming that the management and organization of submarine cables is currently its primary focus in terms of maintaining Indonesia’s digital sovereignty. As the core team responsible for the management and organization of submarine cables and pipelines, PUSHIDROSAL asserted in its statement that the management and organization of submarine cables and pipelines should be undertaken without any need to reduce the number of operating vessels.
PUSHIDROSAL has also stated that the licensing process for vessels passing through Indonesian waters for the purpose of installing submarine cables will be implemented in cooperation with various Ministries and State Agencies. Moreover, PUSHIDROSAL has also stated that it will impose sanctions upon any actors found to be involved in the illegal or unlicensed installation of submarine cables. _(ANT)
