PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (“BEI”) is currently preparing to launch a new investment product that it has called the structured warrant (waran terstruktur). While the official launch of this new product is being targeted for the beginning of the second semester of 2022, BEI has claimed that the system and supporting regulations are ready.[1] Indeed, BEI has already issued a number of rules which elaborate upon various provisions originally set out under Regulation of the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan – “OJK”) No. 8/POJK.04/2021 on Structured Warrants (“Regulation 8/2021”), as follows:
