Overview
In an effort to provide better services to the general public, the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Office (“Ministry”) has been working hard to improve the quality of its land and spatial planning administration through various policies, such as the eradication of the so-called land mafia and the digitalization of services relating to agrarian affairs, as well as a move from analogue to electronic systems as regards the utilization of deeds.[1] Of all of the above-listed policies, arguably the most important has been the digitalization of land services in order to provide improved access to the general public in terms of the securing of services that relate to the administration of land. Widely deemed a success, this digitalization of public services has been recognized by its stakeholders and the Ministry was duly rewarded with a Golden Appreciation for Digital Products award by Perusahaan Umum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (Perum Peruri) in early 2022.[2]
