Overview

In order to mitigate the effects of Indonesia’s ongoing domestic coal supply crisis in relation to the generation of electrical power, the Director-General of Minerals and Coal (“Director-General”) has issued Letter No. B-1605/MB.05/DJB.B/2021 on the Fulfillment of Coal Supplies for General Electrical Power (“Letter 1605/2021”), which prohibits the following parties from exporting coal from 1 January 2022 - 31 January 2022 (collectively referred to as “Coal-Mining Business Actors”):[1]
