- The Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries ("Minister") has now determined benchmark prices for the calculation of fisheries product levies ("Benchmark Prices") through the issuance of Decree of the Minister No. 97 of 2021 on Benchmark Fish Prices for the Calculation of Fisheries Product Levies ("Decree 97/2021").
- Fifty-two types of fish along with their Benchmark Prices are listed under the Appendix to Decree 97/2021, including the following: 1) Flying fish (Rp. 12,000); 2) Mackerel [kembung] (Rp. 18,100); 3) Trout (Rp. 15,600); 4) Sardinella lemuru (Rp. 7,000); 5) Sardinella [tembang] (Rp. 5,100); 6) Pompano [ikan kuwe] (Rp. 18,000); 7) Mackerel tuna [tongkol] (Rp. 12,500); 8) Skipjack [cakalang] (Rp. 15,650); 9) Yellowfin tuna (Rp. 25,000 - Rp. 43,050); and 10) Grouper (Rp. 41,800).
- The Benchmark Prices for these various types of fish are determined in line with the following consideration: 1) Type of fish; 2) Average quality of fish caught; 3) Average fish size; and 4) Average fish prices across all fish landing sites.
- Decree 97/2021 has been in force since 25 October 2021.
