- The Director-General of Immigration recently issued Letter No. IMI.2-UM.01.01-2.4455 ("Letter"), which revises the documents required for the granting of limited-stay work visas. This adjustment has been introduced due to the fact that a number of difficulties have been experienced by applicants attempting to secure the various documents required under the framework of Regulation of the Government No. 48 of 2021 ("Regulation 48/2021").
- The various documents originally required under Regulation 48/2021 break down as follows: 1) Statement of good behavior, as issued by a competent authority in the relevant country of origin or representatives of the country of origin of the foreign citizen in question; and 2) Results of a health examination that state that the foreign citizen in question is free from any infectious diseases that could potentially endanger public health.
- The Letter has now revised the above-listed documents by allowing for alternative documents to be provided by applicants looking to fulfill the requirements. Said alternative documents encompass the following: 1) Letter of guarantee issued by a guarantor stating that the foreign citizen in question has never committed any criminal act as an alternative to the statement of good behavior; and 2) Proof of having received a full dose of COVID-19 vaccine as an alternative to the health examination requirement.
- The Letter has been in force since 28 September 2021.
