New Provisions Introduced on Guidelines for the Onboard Monitoring, Inspection, Evaluation and Marking of Fishing Vessels

In an attempt to implement various provisions originally addressed under Regulation of the Government No. 5 of 2021 on the Organization of Risk-Based Business Licensing (“Regulation 5/2021”),[1] as well as Regulation of the Government No. 27 of 2021 on the Organization of the Maritime and Fisheries Sector (“Regulation 27/2021”), the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 33 of 2021 (“Regulation 33/2021”), which sets out various provisions that relate to fish capture logbooks, the onboard monitoring of fish capture vessels (“Monitoring”) and fish transportation vessels (collectively referred as “Fishing Vessels”), inspections, evaluations and the marking of fishing vessels, as well as to the management of fishing-vessel crew members.[2]
