- The Director-General for the Organization of Post and Information ("Director-General") has recently issued Regulation No. 1 of 2021 on Technical Provisions for the Organization of Telecommunications Services ("Regulation"), which serves as an implementing regulation to Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology No. 13 of 2019 on the Organization of Telecommunications Services and its Amendment.
- The Regulation establishes a new set of detailed guidelines for the organization of telecommunications service, which encompass the following areas: 1) Technical provisions for telecommunications services; 2) Provision of service quality standards for the implementation of telecommunications services; 3) Calculation formula for the statistical aggregation of service quality standards for the implementation of telecommunications services; 4) Procedures for the supervision and control of the organization of telecommunications services; 5) Other technical provisions that address the organization of telecommunications services; 6) Formatting of reports on the achievement of service quality standards; and 7) Formatting of statement letters for value-added telephony service providers for public purposes (ITKP) that are in compliance with provisions for the channeling of calls that originate from outside the territory of Indonesia.
- The Regulation has been in force since 2 July 2021.
