- One of the documents required in order to secure an import approval for non-hazardous and toxic waste (“Waste”) is proof as a Registered Exporter (“Exporter”), as issued by authorized officials in the relevant country of origin (“COO”) and as legalized by Indonesian representatives working abroad. Under this new amendment, any proof as Exporter must include the company profile of the relevant Exporter’s company, as well as documents that address the legality of any licenses issued within the COO. Moreover, the validity of any proof as Exporter must be provided in accordance with a period determined by COO officials.
- A proof as Exporter must be submitted electronically by Indonesian representatives abroad via the INATRADE integrated Indonesian-citizen and legal-entity protection system by uploading an original copy of the proof as Exporter along with the identity of the relevant Exporter.
- A statement letter drawn up by the Exporter which addresses the origin of the Waste, as well as the responsibility of the Exporter for said Waste must now be submitted to the Director-General of Foreign Trade via the http://inatrade.kemendag.go.id portal if any changes are made regarding the proof as Exporter or the Exporter status itself.
- Pekanbaru Port in Pekanbaru has now been appointed as one of the seaports through which imports of Waste are allowed and has been added to the list of 12 other previously appointed seaports.
