- In an effort to establish a reliable, safe and trusted electronic transaction system, the government is now requiring all public and private Electronic System Providers (Penyelenggara Sistem Elekronik – “PSE”) to register their activities with the Ministry of Communication and Information via the Online Single Submission (OSS) system by 10 October 2020. Failure to register will render the PSE liable to the imposition of administrative sanctions, including temporary suspensions, written warnings and access terminations.
- During the registration process, a PSE organizer is required to provide information on the identity of the relevant PSE, domicile location, company’s deed of establishment and number of users and transactions within Indonesia. Furthermore, PSE must also fulfill certain requirements at the time of registration as regards the following elements: 1) Sector and subsector of the electronic system; 2) Type of system (web portal and/or digital platform); 3) Server location; 4) Function description and electronic system business processes; and 5) Security certificates.
