Govt. Expands Scope of Import-Duty Exemptions for Geothermal Activities

In a bid to ramp up national geothermal energy production,[1] the Minister of Finance (“Minister”) recently issued Regulation No. 218/PMK.04/2019 on Import-Duty Exemptions and/or Non-Collection of Tax for Goods Imported for the Organization of Geothermal Activities (“Regulation 218/2019”).

Through the issuance of Regulation 218/2019, the following legal frameworks which previously addressed similar matters (Collectively referred to as “Previous Regulations”) have now been repealed and replaced:[2]
