Govt. Simplifies Provisions on the Possession of Customary Rights by Customary Law Communities

In principle, the Indonesian Government respects the rights of customary law communities in relation to their traditional lands. Therefore, in order to create greater certainty as regards such rights, the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 18 of 2019 on Procedures for the Administration of the Communal Lands of Customary Law Communities (“Regulation 18/2019”).[1]
