Govt. Commits to State Budget Allocation in Push for Financial Technology

  • The Indonesian Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, has affirmed her total support for Indonesia’s nascent financial-technology industries. Amidst solid business growth, Mulyani also addressed the urgent need to maintain the current economic momentum through technological development and intervention.
  • In addition, several new measures are set for forthcoming implementation by the Indonesian Government, including: 1) State budget allocation aimed at the establishment and expansion of internet infrastructure; and 2) Education budget allocation aimed at the development of high-quality human resources.
  • In a related development, it is expected that the ongoing Palapa Ring project will ultimately enhance public access to the internet, which should, in turn, boost nationwide access to financial technology. (kemnekeu.go.id)
