Blockchain Technology to Be Used in All Future E-Government Applications

In order to exploit the benefits of blockchain technology within the successful online tax system, which was officially launched last year, the Minister of Communication and Informatics, Rudiantara, recently stated that all e-government applications would hopefully soon be equipped with blockchain, cryptographically connected, multi-server, data-storage technology.
The government is currently organizing a study which will address the use of blockchain technology as part of its e-budgeting systems. The ultimate goal is the establishment of an integrated, systematic and transparent budgeting regime which stretches all the way from the village-level to central government.
The Minister also added that his Ministry was currently focusing on the Multifunction Satellite and Palapa Ring program, as the integration of blockchain technology into e-government applications and systems will require support from properly developed telecommunications infrastructure. (KOMINFO)
