Health Examinations for Sailors and Maritime Workspaces Standardized

The Minister of Transportation (“Minister”) has decided to introduce a set of health standards and health examinations for maritime personnel through the issuance of Regulation of the Minister No. PM 40 of 2019 on Health Examinations for Sailors, Maritime Safety Supporting Personnel and Maritime Working Environments (“Regulation 40/2019”).[1]

In essence, the various provisions which are set out under Regulation 40/2019 apply to sailors and maritime safety supporting personnel (“Supporting Personnel”) in general and encompass the following matters:
