Indonesian Lawyer Appointed Member of SIAC Court

The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (“SIAC”) has just published a list of newly appointed SIAC court members. Among 14 new members, Eri Hertiawan from Assegaf, Hamzah and Partners (AHP) was the only Indonesian to be entrusted with the responsibilities associated with becoming a member of the court as a result of his vast experience of arbitration.
As a member of the SIAC court, Mr. Hertiawan will fill a number of roles, including: 1) Advising and directing SIAC board members; and 2) Assisting with the SIAC’s supervisory function.
Prior to this groundbreaking appointment, Eri was previously selected as a reserve member of the SIAC panel of arbitrators. In addition, Eri has actively participated in various arbitral seminars and has also been a guest lecturer at several universities, where he has addressed various arbitration-related subjects.
