Energy and Mineral Resources Sector and Industrial Revolution 4.0

  • Facing the rise of Industrial Revolution 4.0, the Indonesian Government is moving dynamically in order to prepare the country to adjust to current developments so that it will be able to compete at a global level.   
  • Ignasius Jonan, the current Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, stated recently that his Ministry would be addressing the development of the energy and mineral resources sector through a focus on four specific areas: 1) Development of new and renewable energy; 2) Manufacturing and use of electric vehicles; 3) Online transactions; and 4) The use of artificial intelligence and the implementation of 5G.
  • It is expected that these technology-related areas will become increasingly important over the next 25 years.
