Supreme Court Planning to Publish Jurisprudence E-Book

Indonesia’s Supreme Court has established a team which will be responsible for compiling an official Supreme Court jurisprudence e-book (“Team”) through the issuance of Circular of Supreme Court No. 39/KMA/SK/II/2019 (“Circular 2019”). The new e-book will cover philosophical, juridical and sociological aspects of the law and is intended for use as a set of guidelines by judges during the handling of cases.
Supreme Court secretary, Pudjo, stated recently that the Team will prepare a compilation of landmark Supreme Court decisions from 1951 up to 2018 as per the jurisdiction of the court. The Team will also gather, sort, review and scientifically examine various landmark decisions. The results will ultimately be published in the form of an e-book.
In spite of the fact that not all landmark decisions can be considered within the context of jurisprudence, it is expected that the new e-book will at the least become a common law guide for judges.
