Integrated Agricultural Licensing Supervisory System Introduced

In order to implement Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture No. 29 of 2018 on Business Licensing Procedures within the Agricultural Sector, the Center for Plant Variety Protection and Agricultural Licensing (Pusat Perlindungan Varietas Tanaman dan Perizinan Pertanian – “PPVT”) at the Ministry of Agriculture (“Minister”) is set to establish an integrated supervision and management system (“Integrated System”) for all issued licenses and recommendations in a bid to minimalize any violations.
Under the Integrated System, the issuance of agricultural licenses will be completed in only three days, considerably less than the previous period of 13 days. It is expected that this move will increase levels of productivity and exports in relation to agricultural commodities, particularly horticultural commodities. (ANT)
