New Community Credit Enterprise Scheme Introduced

The Government has finished formulating the special Community Credit Enterprise (Kredit Usaha Rakyat – “KUR”) scheme in a bid to accelerate the meeting of distribution targets in relation to the community plantation commodities, farms and fisheries sector through the issuance of Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs No.11 of 2017 (“Amendment”) on the Amendment to Regulation No. 8 of 2018 on Guidelines for the Implementation of the Community Credit Enterprise Scheme.
In essence, the Amendment addresses the following specific matters: 1) Interest rate reduction from 9% to 7% per year; 2) Establishment of the special KUR scheme; 3) Provisions on the minimum KUR distribution portions for the production sector; and so forth.
