Government Allows Business Expansion for Alcoholic Beverage Producers

The Minister of Industry (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 63/M-IND/PER/7/2014 on Oversight and Control of the Alcoholic Beverages Industry (“2014 Regulation”).

Under the 2014 Regulation, existing alcoholic beverages producers may now expand their businesses and increase their production capacity which since 1995 has been prohibited. Additionally, the 2014 Regulation also provides provisions on allowing existing producers to change their company’s name and factory location, and redefines provisions on the sale and distribution of traditional alcoholic beverages by local producers.
