Provisions on Traditional Markets, Shopping Centers, and Modern Stores Reregulated

The Minister of Trade (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 70/M-DAG/PER/12/2013 on Guidelines for Establishing and Developing Traditional Markets, Shopping Centers, and Modern Stores (“2013 Regulation”).

The 2013 Regulation aims to strengthen the competitiveness of retail trading industries carried out by Modern Stores and Shopping Centers.

The 2013 Regulation also protects Traditional Markets and Small Medium Enterprises (“SME”) from  exposure to disadvantageous market competition from large businesses.
