Draft Government Regulation on Hazardous and Toxic Substances and Waste Management

The Government is currently discussing a draft Regulation on Hazardous and Toxic Material Management, Hazardous and Toxic Material Waste Management, and the Dumping of Hazardous and Toxic Materials (“Draft Regulation”). The Minister of Environmental Affairs (“Minister”) is leading the drafting process.

The Draft Regulation implements provisions on waste management as mandated by Article 60 (3) of Law  No. 32 of 2009 on Environment Protection and Management.

The Draft Regulation sets out a comprehensive regulatory framework for managing hazardous and toxic materials commonly referred to as B3 (bahan berbahaya dan beracun – “B3”), including waste from these materials waste.
