Integrated Online Import Procedure for Drug and Food Ingredients

Head of National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan – “BPOM”) has issued Regulation No. 28 of 2013 on Import Oversight of Ingredients of Drugs, Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements and Food (“2013 Regulation”).

The 2013 Regulation aims to integrate the process of importing food and drug ingredients under a single online system, which comprises of ingredients of drugs, traditional medicines, health supplements, and food (collectively referred to as “Ingredients”).

Import of the abovementioned Ingredients was previously regulated by four Head of BPOM regulations (collectively referred to as “Previous Regulations”):
