Environmental Risk Analysis Document for Genetically Modified Products

Minister of Environmental Affairs (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 25 of 2012 on Guidelines to Draft an Environmental Risk Analysis Document for Genetically Engineered Products (“Regulation”). The Regulation was drafted in an effort to mitigate risks associated with the use of genetically modified products.

The Regulation is in accordance with Article 47 of Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, which stipulates that any activity that may significantly affect the environment, ecosystem, or human health and safety, must undergo an environmental risk analysis.
